Portugal has quietly made clothes for the rest of Europe for decades — cotton, wool and technical knits, cut and sewn by hands that learned the trade from the generation before them. It is not a fashionable claim. It is simply where the skill already lives.
For a brand starting from nothing, that matters. Natural fibres handled properly, seams that hold, a country with the infrastructure to make small runs well rather than enormous runs cheaply. We did not want to build that knowledge from scratch when it already exists, refined over a very long time.
We are still choosing exactly who will make the Signature Polo, piece by piece. We would rather tell you that plainly than invent a workshop and a family history we have not yet earned. When we can name our makers honestly, we will — and we will tell that story properly, with their permission.
Until then: Portugal, because it is where clothes like ours are already made well.
